ARTIST STATEMENT
Art is limitless for me and this is what I love most about it. I came to clay initially through the influence of traditional pottery.
While I was pursuing my art degree at JJ school of art, clay seemed like it was always pulling at me.
It was the one medium where the creative process, physical interaction, and self expression came together completely. My work is both functional and sculptural.
Working in clay seemed to reveal itself to me. And I feel it is in a constant state of evolution. I respond to the clay as much as I tell it what to do; it is almost like a conversation in silence. I have learned to work in an instinctive way, not to interrupt or force, but to nurture, explore, and adapt. I work both with the wheel and with hand built forms.

Started Studio Klay Goa, India in 2021. My thought behind setting up S/Klay is an arena of conscious living where through the medium of pottery, surrounding nature, thoughtful spending time....creativity flourishes, calm prevails and it showcases in my varied work. While I love to experiment with design, textures, color, technique inspired by travel, my daydreaming....underlying feel is warm, sublime, organic in form with lingering effect. I hope it has values and implications for others to contemplate, but it is for me that it holds its deepest meanings.
